A line or princess seam. For many, but not all, avoid those bustier style dresses that are popular. If you have a large bust or a short neck, a sweetheart neckline is perfect. Avoid anything that breaks the line - two tier wedding dresses are part of a new trend and frankly, they don't look all that good on normal weight people unless they are tall - they wouldn't do a plus size figure any good at all. Assymetrical works pretty good for plus sized figures.

I looked at the sites one of the posters suggested. Here's my advice:

– Don't choose a strapless gown, or even one with thin straps. Choose one with a halter top or a built-up neckline, perhaps with sleeves.

– The fuller skirts look prettier than the more closely-cut ones.

– All the dresses look great on the models standing still, with ideal lighting. But as you move, bend, dance, etc. a covered-up style will look beautiful on you at all times. Personally I like the "Return to tradition" concept very much.

they have plus size areas for brides that are plus size

depending on your size, that is the size of the dress you will need

sometimes they order it bigger then your normal size because some designers cut small

whatever you do - you need to try the dresses on in person

don't purchase over the internet

see the links below

It really depends more on figure type than size. You don't actually say how she's built, so I can't really give you many pointers.

Yes there are. You could call up a bridal shop and ask them for an appointment, the people that are in the shops are there to help you and tell you what looks good on you.

When i bought my wedding dress my advisor was great. She was honest with me with what looked good on me and what didnt.
It wasnt about a sale to the advisor she was there to help me choose my perfect wedding dress, i wouldnt have been able to pick my one with out her!
It also depens on what kind of wedding ur having!

that depends upon your figure shape more than your actual size. if you have a large stomach or hip area, the best styles are empire waistlines made from fabric which is stiff enough not to be too clingy but which will still drape and fall straight down from under the bustline.

if you are large chested, the best styles are going to include a halter top and/or a sweetheart neckline.

even if you are not tall, use a full length hemline because a wedding dress which is short always makes the wearer look shorter.

for nice plus sized gowns. try looking at http://www.davidsbridal.com
